Ryan Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon we're gonna be showing you how to install the etrailer.com 7-Way upgrade kit. But before we get into that, why don't just take a minute check this out and talk about what it's going to accomplish. First and foremost, what this kit's going to do is give you a seven way round trailer connector and a four way flat type connector. So both of the really common types you'll be able to use but with the seven way you're not gonna get all of the functions. All right So with this particular setup, the way most people are gonna use it is you'll have your lighting signals so your turn signals, your brake lights, your tail lights and a 12 volt auxiliary power. more

Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Subaru Outback, we're gonna be showing you how to install the 7-way upgrade kit which will allow you to use a brake controller. But before we do that, why don't we check the kit out and make sure that it's something that's gonna work for you. The reason that you would want to use a kit like this is two fold really. One of them being, you may just need a 7-way round connector. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Today on this 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon, we're going to install part number C57674 from Curt. Now this part is going to upgrade our four-pole previously been installed on our vehicle up to a seven-pole connector. We're also going to add one additional circuit. This will be a reverse wire lead. Now this additional circuit will be used to reverse lockout on a boat trailer with hydraulic brakes. To start off our install, we'll go ahead and open the back hatch and get access to our reverse light. Now our reverse light is in the back hatch, so we have to remove the panel behind the light. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
All right, today in this 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon, we are going to install a brake controller, part number 90195. We are also going to use a couple of other part numbers, ETBC7, to help install our brake controller and also part number 18136, in Tow Ready; this is a universal mounting bracket. We are going to start off our install using that bracket. Now our mounting bracket just clamps on to the hitch; put the bracket up to the hitch, bring the clamp around and then go ahead and secure it. We will go ahead and move the clamp and set in to place in a way we have less of the extra hanging down. Now we will go ahead and install the 7 pole bracket. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Today on this 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon were going to install part number 90195 from Tekonsha. Also to install this brake controller were going to use the install kit, part number ETBC7. Were going to start off our assembly by getting the ETBC7 kit ready. Well start off by hooking up our gray cable to our seven and four pole adapter. Well wrap up our seven pole adapter wires with electric tape leaving out the four pole. The blue wire which is our brake wire and a black wire which is a 12 volt power supply. more
